Smile Hydra Hunting is still my favorite sport...

500 claws and counting!

The only thing I need to change is lowering my axe mastery in order to increase Smiting and thus lengthen / strengthen Shield of Judgement, but my current axe requires 10. 3/1 Vampiric Axe of Enchanting, of course. The serious agriculturalist would settle for no less.

Let the nerfing begin!

I make good money off them. Other than just claws, they average around 100 gold per pile when they do drop gold. And I get my fair share of purple / gold items. Not to mention keys, which are worth 225 gold apiece and stack very nicely. As you can see, I just passed the 50 mark on those.

Because this "game based on skill" is actually a "game based on money." So here are the skills to make money. I have a little bit of change saved up, but I'm not arrogant about it, and if anyone else wants to work towards their retirement fund before further "adjustments" are made, so be it.

Looks to be a set of Plate with a knights piece, it appears he only has 20 energy.

And he is probably using some damage reducing shield with +hp

F9.

Hydra farming is overrated. Anyone with even the smallest amount of skill could do it

Sorry you can't see Etterwyn too well, her being on fire and all.

Armor is Wyvern from head to legs, and Knight's boots. Wyvern is 85 AL against elemental, so I went with that over my usual Gladiator's set, since I don't need a lot of energy anyway. Shield is Thorgall's, by far the cheapest of the Green shields, req 9 strength, -2 damage enchanted.

Killing only with cyclone axe (10 axe / 12 str) and Shield of Judgmenent (9 smiting)? How much time does it take to kill a group of hydrae?

Longer than pre- 11/10, that's for sure. Probably a little over a minute per group now, vice 30-40 seconds per group that it was before last week. The Vamp mod helps, since it takes away 3 health from them per hit. The size of the group doesn't really matter, since Cyclone and Shield both distribute the love somewhat evenly. Shield of Judgement is your real money maker, which is why I need a new axe to put more points in Smiting. At Smiting 12, it was 41 damage per attack for 18 seconds, 22 with a 20% enchant mod. You'd be surprised just how much damage that could do, especially since Hydrae are immune to knockdown.

Now that I have a spare set of armor, I'm gonna buy a set of Superior Runes and make a 105/55hp warrior for the hell of it and go hunting. Results TBA.

I think that skill 7 is shields up? Maybe? I would think about using something more like... oh wait. Dolyak's Signet is up there.

Skill 6 should be Dolyak Signet.

for famring hydras i jsut use my solo build
it can be used for necro ele mesmer or nehting with 4 energy regen

full amror with 5 supieors on it no helath regen
-50 grim cesta
weapon of ur choice

you use

healing breeze
blank
blank
protection spirt
essence bond
balthazars spirt
mending
watchful spirt

the blanks are for the damage skills ur gonna use if ur ele i perfer inferno and flame burst necro i say spiteful spirt works great cuz it doenst make them run off cuz its not aoe but seems like it and mesmer i got no clue.

the key is 2 not forget 2 cast protection spirt cuz then they only do 5 damage if u got 55 health. I can farm like 12 hydras at a time no problem.

have max of ur stats on ur damage skills
10 protection
9 healing

and then the superiors u decide 2 use.

Have fun trying it out
